INAUGURATION OF NEW RECTORS
The inauguration of the new Rectors of all 10 faculties of Comenius University in Bratislava was held with great solemnity on February 26th of 2015 in the University's Hall. All the academic senate, scientific bodies, diplomatic delegations and many prominent scientists and professors from universities in other European countries were present.
The ceremony was also attended by the Minister of Education of Slovakia Mr. Peter Pellegrini.
Among the distinguished guests was the CEO of EMFASIS Educational Group, Mr. Menandros Emfietzoglou who congratulated the Rector of the University and the new Deans of the Faculties by wishing them good luck in their new duties.
In his speech, the Rector of the University Mgr. Karol Mičieta mentioned that "the only thing we can all agree is that education is only means that guarantees young people a good and successful future”. He also mentioned that “our role is essential to form the educational elite of Slovakia and our duty is to defend and continue to improve our position as a leading European Academic Institution, as one of the 300 most reputable universities in the world”.
In his turn, the Minister of Education Mr. Pellegrini stressed the important role of the Comenius University in education of many great personalities, some of them played a leading role in the socio-political life of the country, and abroad as well.
We - as EMFASIS Educational Group- wish the new academic authorities to continue their successful work for the preparation of a high quality education and establishing the Comenius University in Bratislava as one of the most prestigious and authoritative universities in central Europe.
