Universities in Netherlands

The Netherlands is a small, densely populated country in Western Europe and is chosen every year by several candidates for undergraduate and postgraduate studies in all academic  fields. It is among the top 20 best-in-class financial systems in the world and offers more than 2.000 high-level English-language programs through Research Universities and Universities of Applied Science, overcoming many European countries in innovation and research.

In recent years, there has been a growing demand also for some medical programs offered, mainly because of low fees. In particular, there are two English-language programs in the Netherlands at the Universities of Groningen and at the University of Maastricht.

The University of Groningen, located in the north of the country, was founded in 1614 and is one of the oldest in the Netherlands. It is also one of the top 100 universities in the world in all top international rankings. The University of Maastricht is more recently established in 1976, but it offers high-standard studies, and this is one of the 100 best universities in the world.

These universities are public universities and the enrtance  is possible after a particularly demanding examination for most candidates. The exam is in English Language, in Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics with a specific type of exam. The prospective student for the Medical School must choose only one of the 2 Universities and the entrance examinations are usually done in February of each year in the Netherlands. The results usually are announced after 2 months  (mid-April) and the academic year begins in October. The Foundation Courses we provide to our candidates and can be attended individually or in small groups of 3-5 persons are designed by experienced teachers and aimed at those who want to realize their dream of studying Medicine at the University of their choice.
