Choose examination center: Choose the examination center that is appropriate for you and contact at least 4-5 days before by telephone with the person in charge of this center to confirm you that the examinations will take place on the specified day. It is possible the scheduled exams be cancelled, or you may not find an available position. Therefore, it is better to confirm the validity of the date and the availability for the units you want to be tested. Application process: Before the examinations, go to the examination center to complete the application form and pay for the issuing of the respective card of skill. You will need a photocopy of your ID card. Application form: This is provided by the examination Center. It is a typical application where you will fill in your personal data and the units you will be tested. Issue of the skills’ card: This is a card prepared by the examination center with your details that will be sealed every time you pass a unit successfully. The card from 01/03/2013 costs €40, while the examination of each unit costs €30. Yes, of course. According P.D.347/2003 (G.G. 315/31-12-03) and P.D.44/2005 (G.G. 63/09-03-05), with whom P.D.50/2001 on "Determining qualification for appointment to positions in public sector institutions" was amended, but also according to the Decision of the 16th Session of the Supreme Council of Staff Selection (A.S.E.P.), for the recruitment procedures in the Public Sector, the Supreme Council of Staff Selection (A.S.E.P.) recognizes the ECDL certificates as degrees of the knowledge of computer use that meet the criteria of the Presidential Decrees mentioned above.
The vast majority of the announcements of the Supreme Council of Staff Selection (A.S.E.P.) for vacancies in the greater public sector require only three basic units: 1) Word Processing (WORD), 2) Spreadsheets (EXCEL) and 3) Web Services (INTERNET). Successful examinations in these three (3) units, lead to the ECDL Progress 3 certificate, which meets the requirements specified in the announcements of O.E.E.K. and A.S.E.P. However, there are many announcements of A.S.E.P. mainly for administrative positions, where five (5) units are required: the three (3) ones mentioned above and, in addition, the following: 4) presentations (POWERPOINT) and 5) Databases (ACCESS). In this case, the candidate must succeed in all five (5) units and obtain the ECDL Progress 5 certificate. It is understood that if someone has already succeeded in more units than those required according to the announcement, he/she is fully covered and can submit the certificate he owns to A.S.E.P. For example, if a candidate has the ECDL Core certificate (i.e. all seven (7) core units) he/she is fully covered for ALL government announcements, whether they require three (3) or five (5) ECDL units.
