Slovakia is a country of 5,500,000 people in the heart of Europe, which is connected with the neighboring countries through the river Danube.

On May 1st, 2004, Slovakia joined European Union as official member and from January 1st, 2008, it joined the euro zone. Two of the largest universities in Europe have their headquarters in Slovakia, one in Bratislava and one in Kosice.

Bratislava, as the capital city of Slovakia, is the largest city of the country, with a population of approx. 600.000 people. It is located in the south-western part of the country on the river Danube, at the borders between Slovakia and Austria and also near Hungary and the Czech Republic.

It is a vibrant city, crossed by the river Danube, which gives an outstanding beauty to the city.

In the past, Bratislava was the city of coronation of the Hungarian kings and the city has a reach inheritance of the middle ages and baroque architecture with a great number of classic buildings, among them the University. Bratislava has a charm that resembles to the one of Vienna that is located only 50km away (half an hour by car).

Bratislava combines culture and civilization, museums and youth, art collections, many parks and pathways. It can be considered as an ideal destination for each young person who wished to study in Europe and, especially, in a safe environment.
